We are pleased and proud to announce the appointment of a new member to the DDF Supervisory Board (BoS): Oscar Kneppers!
We would like to introduce him in more detail:
Oscar is a successful serial entrepreneur, tech investor and celebrated internet publisher. He started his career in 1991 at US tech publisher IDG for which he created MacWorld in the Netherlands, set up the first Dutch internet magazine ‘Net Magazine’ (1994) and then launched the successful online tech channel Webwereld (1995).
In 1998, Oscar founded his first company, Emerce, a magazine, website and events on e-business, digital marketing and technology. Emerce is still considered the most prominent Internet and e-commerce brand in the Netherlands. In 2005, he launched Bright, a cross-media title for digital lifestyle, creative design and innovative technology. Then, in 2010, Oscar founded Rockstart. ‘This ‘Global Startup Machine’ helps startups be more successful by guiding them ‘early stage’ with funding and connecting them to mentors and investors. Rockstart operates in Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Bogota. Rockstart now includes a family of more than 300 companies from over 60 countries. Oscar grew up in Veldhoven and lives with his family in Amsterdam.
With this both amazing and enthusiastic new member in our SB, we as DDF will continue to work on the position and significance of Dutch designers and show how designers worldwide are shaping a positive future.
