About the facilitators
Mayomi Basnayaka is a contemporary artist from Sri Lanka. Her current artistic practice revolves around delving into the knowledge stored in our bodies and creating narratives that challenge the dominant ones. Her work aims to make space for marginalised and silenced identities, especially those with migrant backgrounds. Currently, she hosts the performance series ‘Stories to Sleep to.’
Nisala is a multidisciplinary visual designer from Sri Lanka dedicated to making knowledge accessible, enhancing spiritual connections, and promoting empathetic exchanges. They believe that the way we design the world around us, exposes who belongs, so they try to cultivate a sense of belonging across identity. Nisala draws from a background in Visual Art and Sociology and is motivated by post-colonial theory, de-digitization, and notions of Queer Utopia.
