The Voorkamer Embroidery Group welcomes you to join their gathering around threads fabrics and needles. In these gatherings which happen weekly for a year now, the embroidery group finds a place to be together and share thoughts, observations, and tips which pop up at the crafts table. Whether you’d like to start your own embroidery piece, continue on an existing one, or suggest a collective work, you are welcome to join!

This workshop is generally held in English with informal translation from group members into Dutch when needed.

De Voorkamer is a cultural space in the neighbourhood of Lombok, Utrecht. It aims to be a safer place for intercultural experiences. By gathering around creativity and talent, our community grows and develops meaningful ties. The Embroidery Group was initiated by artist Renata Mirón Granados in the form of a free-hand embroidery workshop. Given the larger meaning these Thursday evenings began to hold, the embroidery group became a weekly gathering around crafts, tea, and intersectional feminism.
